This statue of Sam was cast in Chicago around 1899. John Brunkhorst owner of Chicago Crucible and Northwestern Terra Cotta Company was a great uncle whose company did the casting. The statue has remained in the family since that time.

The statue is in excellent condition. There are several small nicks visible in the photos.
